Sunnyside City’s Climate Resilience Advisory re-elected its officers, excused an absent member and deferred approval of previous meeting minutes during a meeting that focused on finalizing a public participation plan and reviewing a state workbook for a climate element.
The advisory elected Elsa Hart as chair after the group said the prior meeting was not livestreamed. The motion to elect Hart was made and seconded and carried by voice vote. The advisory also moved to excuse Miss Van de Graaff, who was absent because of a family medical issue; that motion was seconded and carried. Members agreed to table approval of the prior meeting’s minutes because several said they had not received them by email and asked staff to redistribute the packet in advance of the next meeting.
Julia Murray was identified in the meeting as the committee’s prior chair; members said the slate of officers would include Hart as chair, Maria as vice chair and the previously noted member as secretary pending confirmation.
The committee formally set its next meeting for Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting adjourned after a motion to close was seconded and approved by voice vote at about 2:49 p.m.
Actions and motions recorded at the meeting included motions to excuse an absent member, to table the minutes pending redistribution, to elect the chair and to adjourn. Each motion was seconded and carried by voice vote during the session.
No formal roll-call tallies were read into the record; the minutes will be finalized and the previously tabled items returned to the agenda at the committee’s next meeting.
