The committee voted unanimously to continue contracting with HydroCorp to perform commercial cross-connection inspections for an amount not to exceed $42,033.48.
Staff said the inspections are required by regulation and cover roughly 485 sites on a two-year cycle. Paul, who spoke for HydroCorp, explained cross-connection inspections verify separation between potable and nonpotable water (for example, sprinkler systems) and protect the drinking water supply.
Committee members asked about inspection frequency and whether businesses push back; Paul said inspection intervals vary by risk and that HydroCorp enforces code compliance even when the finding requires businesses to rework piping. The contract continues an operational relationship the village has used for several years.
