She advised that advertising should focus on building qualities rather than phrasing that could suggest preference for particular groups. On accommodations, Heidi said service animals cannot be charged a deposit or monthly fee.
She provided resource options for residents with complaints: the county office, local legal aid, or the state fair housing resource center, and left printed materials and a business card on the back table for follow-up.
