The Boyertown Area School District board approved a series of operational and personnel items that administration recommended on the superintendent’s consent and itemized agendas.

Consent agenda: Administration presented routine items including policy second readings, three settlement agreements and donations (including sensory pathway packages for Gilbertsville Elementary from the Education Foundation). The board approved the consent agenda by roll-call vote.

Kelly Services addendum: Administration recommended an addendum to the existing Kelly Services contract to increase the daily substitute rate from $110 to $130 to improve competitiveness and help raise the current substitute fill rate (an estimated 65–66% fill rate was cited). The addendum passed after discussion; board members asked that administration continue evaluating pay parity for paraprofessionals and longer-term strategies to increase staffing.

Therapy Source addendum: Kaylin Bartman explained an addendum granting Therapy Source an additional occupational therapist one day per week at Bridal Elementary to support students in an opened autistic-support room; the item passed unanimously.

Chiller motor purchase: The board approved purchase of a compressor motor for Boyertown Area Senior High (BASH) chiller #2 for $99,545, with administration having provided quotes and warranty information.

Overnight trip: The board approved the RPA Music Educators Association District 10 Choral Festival overnight trip for four students and staff.

Personnel agenda: The personnel items listed in the agenda were approved by roll call.

All items were approved by roll-call votes; several board members used the discussion to request future consideration of additional increases for paraprofessionals and longer-term staffing strategies.
