O'Connell described large scoring differentials in recent conference play, said travel and differing access to club/travel programs put Joliet student athletes at a disadvantage, and urged the board to form a committee to study possible changes or supports. "What am I suggesting? ... I think it'd be just so nice if you formed a committee, at least looked into it," he said. The chair thanked him for his remarks and acknowledged the family's legacy with district athletics.
