Summary
Administrators updated the board on Strategic Plan action 3.1 to strengthen academic and career readiness and demonstrated the School Links platform, which integrates with Infinite Campus. Staff said School Links auto‑enrolled parents (about 99% access) and outlined four FAFSA events and expanded grade‑9/10 planning.
Superintendent Dr. Guzman introduced an update to Strategic Plan action 3.1, focused on strengthening students' academic and career readiness, and turned the presentation over to John Randich Jr. and Gabrielle Garrett, the district's PPS coordinators.
Randich highlighted recent events including first‑generation celebrations at both campuses and said post‑secondary planning teams have been active at Central (year 2) and West (year 1). Gabrielle Garrett demonstrated School Links, showing the student landing page, course planner functionality and how the platform imports course and transcript data from Infinite Campus to produce individualized four‑year plans.
During Q&A, board members asked about parent access and the district's ability to track logins. Garrett said parents are auto‑enrolled as viewers and "it doesn't require a parental approval piece, at this time." She reported that the district auto‑enrolls parents and estimated "we have 99% of parents who have access to School Links," while noting the auto‑enrollment approach currently limits the district's ability to measure who actually logs in. Staff said counselors and teacher recommendations are part of the process and that counselors will review personalized plans with students in January.
Administrators also noted plans for four FAFSA nights next semester (two at each campus) and an ongoing effort to expand post‑secondary planning instruction into content classes for grades 9 and 10.
