Carpinteria council approves consent calendar, joins county hazard-mitigation update and adopts CIP fee update

At its Nov. 24 meeting the Carpinteria City Council approved routine minutes and financial reports, authorized the city manager to join a county-led multi-jurisdiction hazard-mitigation plan update (city share if grant not awarded: ~$25,000), and adopted resolutions updating the Development Impact Fee/CIP plan (resolution 6427). All recorded votes were unanimous.
The Carpinteria City Council took several routine and policy actions at its Nov. 24 meeting.
The council approved the consent calendar — including the Nov. 10 meeting minutes, expenditures for Nov. 3–14, the executed-contracts report and the city treasury report for October 2025 — by unanimous voice vote.
The council authorized the city manager to submit a letter of intent and to participate in a county-led update to the multi-jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan. Program manager Julissa Briones said the County Office of Emergency Management is applying for a FEMA grant to fund the countywide update (the county requested $375,000). If the grant is not awarded, the city's estimated share would be about $25,000. The council moved, seconded and approved the authorization unanimously.
Staff presented the annual Development Impact Fee and capital-improvement update, including project lists, fee schedules by land use and CPI adjustments. The council read and adopted resolution 6427 accepting the DIF report and updating the capital-improvement program; the item passed by unanimous voice vote.
No roll-call dissent or abstentions were recorded at the meeting.
