Aaron Millis, president of the Friends of the Library, told the board the volunteer group exceeded expectations this year in fundraising and volunteer support. Millis said the Friends raised just over $2,000 on Giving Tuesday, more than $10,000 through book sales, and received about $5,000 in donations; with membership dues and other income the Friends have funded more than $9,000 in library programs and awarded $1,500 in teen volunteer awards.
Millis described donations of books to local and international recipients, including the Travis County Sheriff’s Office and libraries in Uganda and Kenya, and noted the Friends provided volunteer support to library programming. He said the group tracked volunteer time in roughly 30‑minute increments to include hours in grant applications and that the Friends recorded over 1,200 volunteer hours for 2025.
Millis said the Friends had a table at the local run/renaissance fair and promoted membership and upcoming events; the next book sale is scheduled for January 29. He listed the Friends’ elected officers for the coming year and invited questions from the board.
