Administration recommended and the board approved acceptance of gifts, grants and bequests received in November 2025 and accepted the Budget and Insurance Committee’s Fund 10 revenue and expenditure report. The board also accepted an Operations Committee report and asked staff to provide a damage-cost estimate for the middle-school incident at the next operations meeting.
On personnel matters, the board approved the December 2025 new hires and separations report. The board also approved a requested release of Joseph Florestano, a middle-school math teacher, from his 2025–26 contract effective Dec. 19, 2025, with liquidated-damages provisions to be enforced as written in his contract.
The board approved an updated salary schedule for the School Nutrition Manager position and accepted the Personnel Negotiations Committee report. Crystal Hintzeman, director of curriculum and instruction, presented the district Academic and Career Plan (ACP) and the District Spartan Library Plan; both were approved.
The Policies and Rules Committee presented first readings of several policy updates based on Neola recommendations. Items approved on first reading included policy 0100 (definitions), policy 144.5 (board member behavior and communication), policy 4140 (termination and resignation), policy 5112 (entrance age), policy 5464 (early graduation), policy 8420 (school safety and reporting of crime statistics) and policy 9151. The committee plans another round of Neola updates in mid-January.
