Board adopts revised policy and 2025–26 enrollment plan; superintendent reports 98.68% teacher retention

At the public‑hearing portion of its Dec. 1 meeting, the Lee County School Board approved two superintendent recommendations after no public speakers addressed the items.
Doctor Carlin asked the board to adopt a revised board policy intended to promote transparency and accountability; the board approved the policy with an effective date of Dec. 2, 2025. Carlin also presented the 2025–26 student enrollment plan, which the board approved with an effective date of Jan. 20, 2026. Both approvals were recorded by roll‑call votes of 7–0.
Later in the meeting Doctor Carlin reported a positive staffing metric, saying the district’s teacher retention is above its 95% threshold. “Right now we’re at, 98.68%,” she said, and thanked human resources, principals and directors for their work retaining staff.
The board’s consent package earlier in the meeting also introduced multiple administrators newly assigned to school and district posts. The meeting closed with holiday greetings and an announcement that the next workshop and action meeting are scheduled for Jan. 13, 2026.
