Authority members announce Winter Fest, food and toy giveaways for Carson residents

Thomas asked residents to dress warmly and noted there will be winter activities that could get children wet.
Another board member said they will hold a food giveaway on Dec. 19 at Anderson Park from 9 to 11 a.m. and a Dec. 20 toy giveaway at Tristone Missionary Baptist Church, providing toys for "over 500 kids"; the speaker said the toy giveaway will require recipients to be Carson residents and provided an address for the church (1249 Carson Street). Authority chair Davis Holmes acknowledged partner organizations (Carson Citizens Cultural Arts Foundation and the Julia Wood Robinson Foundation) and described senior outreach, saying the group distributed about 700 gift cards, turkeys and food boxes and that an additional "75 to 100" cards will be delivered to seniors who could not attend.
