Scottsdale council appoints volunteers to boards, reappoints lost trust fund members

Scottsdale—s City Council on Dec. 1 appointed residents to multiple volunteer boards and commissions, filling openings that staff said help the council with policy advice.
Jenna Moore was appointed to the Board of Adjustment after council members heard brief interviews from two nominees. Moore, who said she works in commercial real estate and has roots in the Scottsdale area, told the council she would strive to balance the city—s open spaces and character with business growth. Stephanie Rimmer also addressed the council and underscored her three decades of local residency and community ties.
The council reappointed Austin Brooker and Aaron Gockel to the Lost Trust Fund Board by unanimous acclamation after Brooker spoke to his qualifications. Brooker cited his experience leading an acquisitions team in commercial real estate and his service as vice chair of the board since 2022.
Katie Correll was appointed to the Neighborhood Advisory Commission after the council interviewed five applicants for one vacancy. Correll, who joined remotely, described her background in community engagement and fundraising and said neighborhood outreach and congestion were top issues. Several other applicants discussed concerns including aging housing stock, tree and sidewalk maintenance, short-term rentals and neighborhood safety.
Vice Mayor Questman explained that nominees had two minutes to address the council and that staff will contact newly appointed members about next steps. The council noted that applications from those not appointed will remain on file for future vacancies.
The appointments were made by motion or by acclamation as part of the council—s scheduled appointment process; no formal recorded tallies were published in the meeting minutes.
