Medina County commissioners approve year-end package of resolutions covering plats, contracts, wages and purchases

Finance director Brett Thomas brought five finance resolutions: amendments and transfers of appropriations (including end‑of‑year salary cleanups and a shift for health‑benefit funding), expenditure adjustments for various funds, acceptance of a cooperative diesel fuel contract (reported at $2.2647 per gallon for calendar 2026), and payment of weekly bills totaling $2,498,767.60. Commissioners approved the package and Thomas also reported notices from elected offices about employee bonuses: $15,883 from the treasurer’s office and $50,182 from the clerk of courts, with lists and performance metrics available for review.
County administrator Matt Springer presented another eight resolutions including mental‑health and medical services agreements for the juvenile detention center and county home (the county home medical services agreement was presented as not to exceed $800 per month), authorization for the sheriff to enter a five‑year lease purchase with Axon for body cameras and tasers (exempt from competitive bidding as described in the resolution), a credit change order for the county home emergency repair project (a $39,925 credit), authorization to salvage a damaged sheriff’s vehicle, adoption of a Medina County cyber security policy (noted as compliant with House Bill 94), and lease authorization for three sanitary‑engineer vehicles used at wastewater treatment facilities.
