Fuquay Varina Board of Adjustment approves minutes, adopts 2026 meeting dates

"At this time, I'd like to call the 12/08/2025 board of adjustment meeting, for the town of Fuquay Varina to order," the presiding officer said at the start of the meeting. The board then took up approval of the Aug. 11 minutes; after a motion and second, the presiding officer declared, "The minutes are approved as written."
Staff presented the proposed 2026 schedule and explained the January date was moved because the town board will hold a special meeting on the board's usual second-Monday slot. An unidentified board member moved to adopt the 2026 meeting schedule; another board member seconded and the chair declared the motion passed.
Pam, a town staff member who spoke about scheduling and procedural matters, told the board there generally is a separation between work handled by the planning board and issues that bring the Board of Adjustment together, saying the board is "scheduled as needed." She said the board likely will have one public hearing in January: a special-use permit request to expand a daycare, and noted an extraterritorial-jurisdiction appointment that the new mayor wants to fill must be approved by Wake County before that appointee can serve.
