Fuquay Varina ratifies planning, adjustment and parks board appointments

At its Dec. 16 meeting the Fuquay Varina Town Board ratified a slate of appointments across planning, zoning, board of adjustment and parks advisory committees.

Mayor Harris read names and terms for the planning and zoning board, including reappointments for Brett Johnson and Nolan Perry and appointments to fill unexpired terms for Nander Brown and Jeff Stevens; Brett Johnson was nominated to serve as planning board chair. The board moved, seconded and approved the planning board ratifications by voice vote.

The mayor then presented reappointments and new appointments for the board of adjustment, including Donald Condon and Thomas Gallo, and named Kate Caitlin Tart (as written in the agenda) to serve as chair. That ratification also passed by voice vote.

Mayor Harris read the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Advisory Board slate: reappointments for Keith Willis and Eric Myers, new in-town appointments Jim Hunsberger and Chris Boyd, an ETJ appointment Jorge Lopez and alternates including Latoya Patrice Seawood; Renee Potts was named chair. Terms and which appointments fill unexpired terms were read aloud; the mayor noted there was no fiscal note and the item was informational in nature.

The board—s ratifications place the named volunteers in positions to advise planning, zoning and parks policy; the meeting transcript records term dates but does not include additional background on the appointees beyond what was read into the record.
