Board nominates Partners for Peace, SVMH mobile clinic and Bob Hoover Academy for county education awards

The board reviewed a long list of community partners and on Dec. 10 voted to nominate Partners for Peace, the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital mobile clinic and Bob Hoover Academy as its top three nominees for the Monterey County School Boards Association Excellence in Education award.
Superintendent Ansel read a summary of agencies the district has worked with and trustees discussed familiarity and impact; Partners for Peace received multiple endorsements from trustees and staff as the first choice. The motion to forward the three nominees carried 4–0 with one absence.
The list of considered organizations included local nonprofits, arts groups and youth-service providers the district partners with to support family resource centers and student programs.
