"Tonight marks 342 days without a contract," said Paul Motta, speaking on behalf of Hartford Fire, who thanked council leaders for prior support and asked for continued assistance as negotiations continue. Motta said the lack of a contract has been a long, difficult stretch for members and their families and emphasized the department’s commitment to public safety despite the uncertainty.
No formal council action or vote on labor negotiations was taken during the public‑comment portion. Motta asked the council to continue working with the department to find a resolution and noted the workforce’s ongoing dedication to service while a contract remains unresolved.
