Board members noted the report will call attention to three upcoming vacancies the committee expects next year and decided to ask the county commission to appoint replacements. The chair said the report will be finalized as a PDF and presented to the county commission in January; the board also agreed, per the ordinance, to give Sheriff Allen a draft for comment before submission.
The update also added explicit subcommittee membership lists and language about coordination between a SORB member and the League of Women Voters that had been voted on in November. Board members discussed scheduling and said the board plans to meet on Friday, Jan. 9 at 1 p.m. for further organizational business, including committee assignments and election of chair and vice chair for 2026.
The board did not change substantive recommendations in the report during the meeting; members emphasized continuity and that the report’s presentation to the county commission should note the anticipated vacancies so appointments can be arranged in a timely way.
