District: Operations Center cleared, PreK–8 GMP under budget; flooring and UST removal awarded

Tipp City — Superintendent Aaron Moran told the Tipp City Exempted Village School District board that the district’s Operations Center (Transportation/Maintenance) has passed inspection and that staff will finish moving in this week.
Moran said demolition scheduling and the removal of an underground storage tank are planned for early January, and that construction documents for the high‑school project are being finalized with bidding and a contract expected in January or February. On the PreK–8 project he described GMP 1.3 — the guaranteed maximum price package — as coming in under budget and said site work and some footer work will begin the week of Jan. 5.
The board approved a set of facilities contracts related to those needs. Two agreements with Richard D. Smith & Sons were approved: a targeted replacement not to exceed $19,181 to repair water damage in the LT Ball hallway and a larger removal and replacement package not to exceed $61,124 for uniformity and safety. The board also approved an environmental remediation contract not to exceed $51,800 to remove an underground storage tank at the district bus garage.
"The Operation Center ... has been passed inspection. Occupancy ... we'll be moving in completely by the end of the week," Moran said.
Board members said the flooring work will be scheduled to limit disruption and that emergency work had already been completed to make the area safe. The superintendent and treasurer emphasized the PreK–8 package is under budget; the transcript did not include a single-line item for the GMP amount, and the board did not read a total GMP figure into the public record at this meeting.
The contracts carry standard implementation steps: the facilities department will coordinate scheduling, the environmental contractor will report on disposal and remediation steps as required, and treasurer staff will track appropriations and payments.
