Council forwards Shelton Employees Guild three-year labor agreement to Dec. 16

Human resources and risk manager Leandra Sharp presented a proposed labor agreement between the City of Shelton and the Shelton Employees Guild, one of three municipal employee labor groups. Sharp said the agreement would cover a three-year period (2026—2028) and asked the council to forward the contract for further consideration at the Dec. 16 meeting.
During council comments, members thanked staff and union negotiators for their work and noted the agreement includes a 2.7% cost-of-living adjustment over the three-year term. One council member said the city remains constrained by budget realities but appreciated the guild—s cooperation.
The council moved and seconded a motion to place the labor agreement (Resolution 1417-1125 referenced in the reading) on the Dec. 16 action agenda; the motion carried by voice vote. No final adoption occurred on Dec. 2.
