At the end of its Dec. 3 meeting, the Seminole County Planning and Zoning Commission approved the proposed 2026 meeting schedule, conducted officer nominations and elections, and heard a staff departure announcement.
A motion to approve the 2026 commission meeting dates was made and seconded; the commission voted to adopt the schedule as presented.
Chairman Mike Lorenz opened the floor for nominations for chair. A commissioner nominated Commissioner Carissa Lawan for chair and the board voted in favor with no opposition. Later, after following the gavel procedure, the board nominated and elected Commissioner Brandy Ioppolo as vice chair.
A staff member told the commission this was their last meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission and that they were leaving the county. "I just wanted to let you know that today is my last meeting, with planning and zoning commission," the staff member said, and board members publicly thanked the employee for their service.
The meeting then adjourned.
