Marshall County commissioners approved a contract Dec. 15 with Cottage Watchmen to install security cameras, fire detectors and related equipment for the health department at a total cost of $21,003.15.
Ryan Begg, health administrator, presented the proposal and broke out initial setup and recurring components. Begg said the purchase includes hardware (cameras, battery backup, wiring) and recurring monitoring services; the board asked whether video would be recorded off-site in the cloud. Begg replied the vendor offered cloud options and that recorded video retention was included to a specified point, and staff said the county would confirm storage/backup choices during implementation.
Commissioners moved and approved the contract with the president of the board authorized to sign. Begg said installation would start in January when the vendor has availability.
