Commissioners approve three-year CyberTech contract to host county GIS data in the cloud

Marshall County commissioners voted Dec. 15 to approve a three-year cloud-hosting agreement with CyberTech to migrate the county's geographic information system (GIS) data off local servers and into a cloud environment.
IT Director Michael Marshall and GIS Coordinator Diane Ross told the board the work completes a multi-year strategy to move critical county data into the cloud under the county's continuity-of-operations (COOP) plan. Ross said the contract "would provide access to GIS data in the event of an emergency, offering timely support to emergency services when it might be needed most."
The contract discussed and approved included a $15,000 initial payment and a total three-year amount of $72,543 (staff clarified packet line items showing $57,054.03 and explained how the full three-year total is structured). Commissioners moved and approved the agreement, authorizing signature by the board president.
Staff said the contract includes support hours to replace GIS support being reduced by the county's prior vendor and that the county will evaluate renewal at the end of the initial term. The board recorded the motion and carried the vote without opposition.
