Pontiac mayor highlights housing progress, downtown redevelopment and scholarship support at tree-lighting

Bridal said the Andersons established a scholarship fund that awards $20,000 annually and that $5,000 is slated for a recipient in each participating community, which he named as Pontiac, Auburn Hills, White Lake and Waterford. He said awards will be presented at a ceremony the next morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Strand Theatre.
Mike McGinnis, identified in the transcript as Pontiac City Council president and incoming mayor, offered holiday greetings and thanked attendees.
