Marshall County Museum reports nearly 7,000 visitors, previews 2026 exhibits

Sandy Garrison, director of the Marshall County Museum, told the Marshall County Council on Dec. 8 that the museum’s visitor numbers rose from about 5,000 at the last report to nearly 7,000 as of Nov. 30 and that volunteers logged more than 4,000 hours this quarter.
Garrison said the museum hosted the traveling American Revolution Experience this fall and credited the exhibit and volunteer work for the increased attendance. "I'm Sandy Garrison. I'm director of the Marshall County Museum, and with me is Mike Miley, president of the Marshall County Historical Society," she said in presenting the quarterly report.
The museum highlighted work on original county-history publications (including a new volume featuring material from Bill Snyder and photography from local digs) and previewed a refresh of the dairy room and a planned sports room update in 2026 to deepen local historical interpretation. Garrison also described volunteer-driven projects and partnerships that expanded outreach and programming.
Council members and attendees praised the museum’s work and encouraged continued community engagement. The presentation closed with staff offering to answer questions and the council thanking museum staff for the quarterly update.
