Commissioner Alford’s motion to support installing turf on the infields of four Bradley County parks and to direct the mayor and Parks & Recreation director to plan and pursue funding passed unanimously (12–0, 2 absent). The commission also approved a legal-and-legislative committee recommendation that all pilot agreements and TIF agreements go through two combined work sessions prior to a vote, a procedural change intended to increase review and transparency.
Separately, the commission referred a remediation project for 1770 Spring Place Terrace — to comply with an 11/18/2025 court order requiring removal of structures and cars — to the Finance Committee to pursue funding. Staff said the judge’s final order was pending signature at the time of the meeting but that the scope would include removing the structure and all cars; county staff will seek estimates and report to the finance committee.
