The Longmeadow School Committee on Dec. 2 received a brief update on the middle‑school building project as it moves through design development.
Superintendent Dr. O'Shea said project staff had planned a field trip to review recently completed schools for finish and material ideas, but the trip was postponed and will be rescheduled. The district continues to work with the design team on interior finishes, furniture and equipment and with Fontaine Brothers and DPW on construction staging, including temporary access roads and deployment of equipment.
O'Shea said other active design items include landscaping and security‑system planning. He said educators are engaged in interior decisions about finishes and furniture and that staging logistics will be a major focus at upcoming building‑committee meetings. The superintendent indicated the building committee will continue detailed work at its next meeting.
