At its Nov. 24 meeting the Hampden select board approved several appointments and routine administrative actions before moving to executive session.
The board appointed Jen Bagge and Melanie Joy to the Cultural Council with terms ending June 30, 2028. Members also approved appointing Eric Van der Leyden as the town’s representative to the shared health advisory board (one member appointed by the Board of Health from each municipality).
The Board of Health presented four food permits for upcoming events (prepackaged vendors and bakers). The board voted to authorize those permits and separately voted to permit the Board of Health chair to endorse routine food permits that arrive before Nov. 29.
Finally, the board voted to go into executive session pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, chapter 30A, §21(a)(3), to discuss collective bargaining with the highway union and announced it would not return to open session. A roll call was taken as required for executive‑session entry.
