Board approves several façade and signage requests; one item tabled for applicant absence

At 1016 3rd Avenue the owner proposed to repaint the façade Chantilly Lace with black trim, replace metal base flashing with stucco and complete facade repairs. Staff said renderings were provided and the board approved the work contingent on completion as shown.
At 10 16th 3rd Avenue staff described a PVC, painted-black flush wall sign measuring about 8 feet wide by 2 feet tall (16 square feet). The board confirmed the sign complies with the Unified Development Ordinance and approved it as presented.
At 11 23rd Avenue the applicant sought a new Sunbrella awning, repainting in Sherwin Williams alabaster with a mint-colored door, replacement of pavers in the public approach and a small hanging bracket sign (about 2.16 square feet). Staff confirmed the sidewalk/paver area is city property and that outdoor seating similar to other 3rd Avenue locations is expected; board members clarified sign materials (the applicant later said the panel would be powder-coated white steel rather than birch) and voted to approve the combined façade and signage package.
One item, 975 2nd Avenue, was tabled after staff said the applicant did not appear; board members noted multiple prior absences and moved to table the item until the applicant attends.
