Board approves $80,000 equipment purchase, two OCSBA resolutions and $24.6 million in expenditures; appoints assistant principal

At its Dec. 16 meeting the Farmington Public Schools Board of Education approved several routine and policy-related actions.

The board voted to purchase eight warming cabinets from Gold Star Products for the Nutrition Services Fund at a cost not to exceed $80,000. Trustee Walker moved the purchase; Trustee Smith supported the motion. The motion carried on a roll-call vote recorded as unanimous.

Trustees also approved two proposed Oakland County School Board Association resolutions: (1) supporting nonpartisan school board elections, and (2) advocating for full funding of Early On Michigan and early-intervention programs. Trustee Heinrich moved the resolution package and asked to waive a second reading; the board approved the measure.

The board approved the expenditure report dated Dec. 16, 2025, covering multiple funds with a total of $24,593,610, including a general fund amount listed at $20,073,413 and other allocations detailed in the board packet.

The consent agenda, which passed by motion, included minutes and personnel items. Assistant Superintendent Brad Paddock had introduced Christine Strickler earlier in the meeting as the recommended Power Middle School assistant principal; that personnel appointment was included in the approved consent agenda.

Board members did not amend these items during discussion. Votes were recorded during roll calls where required; otherwise items passed by the board’s standard voting procedure.

The board moved on to other agenda items after approving these actions.
