Denison Main Street advisory board approves minutes, sets 2026 schedule and schedules business-owner meeting

The City of Denison Main Street Inc. and the Main Street Advisory Board met in a combined session called to order at 9:03 a.m. The boards approved minutes from their November meetings by voice vote, with members answering “Aye” and no opposition recorded.
The advisory board also approved the proposed 2026 meeting dates for the Masonry Advisory Board, scheduled for the fourth Thursday of the month except for November and December. The board handled those procedural items with a single motion, second and unanimous voice votes.
Staff reminded members to complete the Main Street America annual self-assessment via a QR code as part of the accreditation process. “Rebecca, Wendy and Mitch have already done it,” a staff member noted, adding, “Please complete that, or Sam will bother you.” The assessment is reviewed by the state and then sent to the national organization for accreditation decisions.
Board members were told of ongoing downtown streetscape work and scheduled a business-owners meeting for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, to share updates on closures and coordinate mitigation steps for merchants while construction is underway.
The meeting featured multiple committee and director reports; no formal contested actions or ordinances were taken. The chair adjourned the advisory board meeting at about 9:43 a.m.
