E. B. Frank Middle School build on schedule, Metcon reports foundations complete in Area 600
Summary
District staff reported that foundations and footers are complete in Area 600 at the E. B. Frank Middle School site, temporary power is in place and the project remains on schedule; a live camera feed and site tour are planned before winter break.
The Lenoir County Board of Education received a construction update on the new E. B. Frank Middle School on Nov. 3. Presenters said Metcon has been on site for 109 days and that foundations and footers in Area 600 are complete. Temporary power to the site trailer has been established and plumbing under Area 100 and the fire line are near completion.
District staff described upcoming work: foundation block erection in Area 300 and continued grout and interior foundation work; they also reported that site fencing and signage have been installed and inspected. Presenter said the district hopes to provide a live camera link so board members and the public can view the job site in real time and that a guided site tour will be scheduled prior to winter break.
The board named building manager Jeffrey Turnage and director Patrick Fillipi as district contacts for the project and indicated a fuller contractor presentation (Metcon) will be scheduled for the January meeting.
No vote was required; board members asked logistical follow-ups, including estimated timing for the camera connection to be operational.
