Frick Middle School project on schedule, live cam activated and tour planned
Summary
District staff told the board the E.B. Frick Middle School construction is on schedule with foundation and plumbing work completed in several areas; a live camera is now active and a pre-holiday site tour will be scheduled for trustees.
District staff reported Dec. 8 that construction at E.B. Frick Middle School is on schedule and meeting quality controls.
The construction team has been on site for 126 days, staff said, and work completed since the last update includes foundation block completion in Area 500, underground plumbing in Area 100, pour of slabs in specified areas, and completion of concrete masonry unit foundations. Staff noted upcoming work in December including irrigation sleeve installation and additional CMU installation at the gym.
The district said a site tour will be coordinated for board members and that a live construction camera is now active; viewing instructions will be shared with trustees. Staff also recognized construction manager Jeffrey Turnage and representatives from the contractor METCON, noting a more comprehensive overview will be provided at the January meeting.
The board did not take further action this evening beyond receiving the update.
