The Cache County council approved the appointment of Brian Abbott as interim director of development services during a short meeting on the agenda.

The county executive recommended Abbott to the council, noting he has worked for Cache County for 18 years and has run the county’s building inspection operations. The executive described Abbott’s role as the primary public-facing contact in development services and asked the council for its advice and consent.

Brian Abbott introduced himself to the council, saying he grew up in construction and later joined building inspections. "I love to mix," Abbott said, describing his career balance between construction and inspections. He told council members he plans to attend Planning and Zoning meetings and "ask lots of questions and try and figure it out as quick as I can," if confirmed.
