After returning to regular session, a motion to approve the compiled evaluation results and to authorize contract discussions was made by Mr. Bajero and seconded by Mr. Edmond; the board voted in favor.
President Lachelet publicly reported that the superintendent—s numerical evaluation rose from 3.5 last year to 3.8 this year (on a 4.0 scale). In summarizing the tabulators— findings, the president cited improved communication with staff and the board, progress on safety and facilities improvements and districtwide personnel initiatives as positives in the evaluation record.
