The Gatlinburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the selection of a construction manager at risk for the city's water treatment plant expansion and authorized a pre- and operating agreement with the Gatlinburg Public Building Authority to enable the PBA to enter the construction contract.
City staff said two firms submitted proposals for the project: Dugan and Myers Construction and Morgan Contracting. LDA Engineering and city staff interviewed both firms; the evaluation committee recommended Dugan and Myers. "It is the committee's recommendation that Dugan and Myers be awarded" the contract, a staff presenter told the board. Commissioners indicated their concurrence and approved the recommendation by voice vote.
Staff then presented an operating agreement with the PBA, explaining the PBA would be the contracting agency to enter the CM-at-risk contract with Dugan and Myers, as had been done on recent projects. The commission moved, seconded and approved the operating agreement by voice vote.
The transcript records the recommendation and approval but does not include a roll-call tally or the dollar value of the CM-at-risk contract in the meeting record.
