Board backs Eastern Regional Library System's insurance membership, approves grants and insurance renewals

On grants, Director Deal requested permission to apply for a CSRA Regional Commission recreation grant requesting $17,800 (no local match). Director Broom asked approval to apply for a Georgia Trauma Commission microgrant of $9,275.50 for trauma-related equipment, noting the county had already spent matching funds; the board authorized both applications and signings.
On insurance, Finance Director Doss recommended renewing ACCG workers' compensation coverage at a premium of $110,241 (a decrease from last year), which the board authorized payment for at the meeting. The commission also voted to renew a lease with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for Eddie Fletcher Park (reported as a five-year renewal).
