Lincoln County names Kitty Bryant Meadows director of Leisure Services

After interviews, the commission appointed Kitty Bryant Meadows as director of Leisure Services; outgoing director Delaney Deal was honored and will return to a special-needs teaching post.
Chair Walker T. Norman recommended appointing Kitty Bryant Meadows after a panel interview process that included the clerk and the outgoing director. Commissioner Antonakis moved to appoint Meadows and Commissioner Henderson seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.
Meadows told the board she looks forward to working with seniors and staff and thanked commissioners for the opportunity. The board also formally recognized Delaney Deal's long service as Leisure Services director and accepted her remarks that she plans to return to the classroom as a special-needs teacher at Lincoln County Elementary School.
The appointment is effective immediately following the vote; the commission noted the county will continue to provide transition support and thanked Deal for years of service.
