The Nebraska State Highway Commission on Dec. 12 adopted Resolution 2025-6, approving the location and design and the use of access control for a North Platte project.

Commissioners heard a presentation from staff and comments from local interests that described the project's potential to reroute truck traffic and address long-standing congestion. A commissioner noted public engagement over decades and expressed support for moving ahead.

A motion to adopt Resolution 2025-6 was seconded and the commission voted unanimously in favor. The resolution approves the location and design concept as outlined in the commission packet and authorizes staff to proceed with next steps in the design and implementation process.

NDOT staff said subsequent actions will include final design work, public coordination and scheduling construction phases consistent with the approved resolution and available funding.
