The Marana Unified School District governing board on Nov. 18 recognized Jessica Leonard, a teacher at Butterfield Elementary School, as the 2025 Raytheon Leaders in Education intermediate elementary division winner.
The district said the Raytheon Leaders in Education Award honors PreK–12 teachers in Pima County who demonstrate outstanding classroom performance, leadership and a strong commitment to supporting colleagues and the broader educator workforce. Awards were presented at the Stand Up for Teachers event on Nov. 6, hosted by Tucson Values Teachers; each recipient received a monetary gift and $2,500 was presented as part of the honor. "Please join us in congratulating Jessica Leonard on this incredible achievement," a presenter said during the meeting.
The board presented Leonard with a certificate and invited attendees to celebrate the work of district teachers and staff.
