Daryl Christiansen, who represented the physical infrastructure subcommittee, noted that council unanimously approved updated residential building‑code amendments on June 18 that took effect on Aug. 1 — a change Christiansen described as easing future modifications for aging‑in‑place and reducing retrofit costs.
