Board unanimously approves $33.86 million Student Success Act grant agreement for 2025-27 biennium
Summary
The board voted to approve the Student Investment Account grant agreement required by the Student Success Act, unlocking an allocation of $33,858,641.05 for the 2025-27 biennium (includes funds for district-sponsored charter schools); motion passed 6-0.
The North Clackamas School District board on Dec. 11 approved the Student Investment Account grant agreement required by the state Student Success Act, clearing the way for quarterly disbursements for the 2025-27 biennium.
"Tonight, I am bringing forward the student investment account grant agreement for the 25-27 biennium for your discussion and approval," said Jennifer Dove Kiltow, Director of Student and Family Services. She told the board the district's allocation is $33,858,641.05, a total that includes allocations for three district-sponsored charter schools (Milwaukee Academy of the Arts, Cascade Heights and Clackamas Middle College).
Under the Student Success Act, funds must support mental and behavioral health services and efforts to increase academic achievement while reducing disparities for focal student groups, including students of color, students with disabilities, emergent bilingual students, students experiencing poverty or homelessness, and those in foster care. Dove Kiltow told the board the district's integrated plan had already been approved by the Oregon Department of Education.
Director Olsen moved to approve the grant agreement and Director Kemp seconded. The board voted in favor and the motion passed, recorded in the transcript as a 6-0 vote.
The agreement will allow the district to access disbursements and continue implementation of programs the board previously approved as part of its integrated plan.
