Head Start funding restored; district selected for federal review

Officials said the district was selected as one of 24 Head Start sites for a federal review this week. The review will include interviews with staff, classroom visits and a selection of family files for examination; family-engagement staff had already gone to the review site for interviews and reviewers will visit the district's early childhood center.
Board members expressed appreciation and noted that Head Start services bring additional family supports, including dental, vision and hearing screenings and home visits that contribute case management and link families to outside services.
