Franklin County board approves updated contract for Superintendent Dustin Gearing

The Franklin County Community School Corporation board approved an updated employment contract for Superintendent Dustin Gearing at its Dec. 8, 2025 meeting. The recommendation to approve the superintendent’s updated contract appeared in enclosure 5 of the board packet.
Board member Katie Holman moved to approve the contract; the motion was seconded and the chair announced the motion carried by the board (chair recited a 7–0 tally). Superintendent Gearing offered thanks to the board for their confidence and praised the administrative team and central office staff, saying he was proud to continue to serve the district.
The public hearing on the proposed superintendent contract opened earlier in the meeting under Indiana Code 20-26-5-4.3 and drew no public comment; the board formally closed the hearing before taking action on the contract.
The board did not raise other amendments to the superintendent’s contract in the public discussion. The approval was recorded during the regular meeting and will be incorporated into district personnel records.
