Springfield honors Styx Productions and cast of 'Stay Fly' with proclamations

Before its hearings session the Springfield City Council opened the evening with a proclamations ceremony honoring Styx Productions and individuals who contributed to the film Stay Fly.
Councilor Brown introduced the item and read a proclamation recognizing Steven Styx Josie and Styx Productions for filming Stay Fly in Springfield and for contributions to local arts and entertainment. Steven Styx Josie accepted and spoke from the podium, thanking the council and describing personal reasons for delaying the film’s release: 'I paused and I'm putting the movie out for 5 years because they're not here,' he said, referring to collaborators who died during the production period.
The council also presented a proclamation recognizing Marco Antonio Innes for his work in the film and long career in music and fashion. Innes, who said he organizes housing work in Boston and partners with Springfield groups, told the council he was humbled to be recognized.
The proclamations portion concluded with councilors from across the chamber offering congratulations and an invitation to take photos with honorees. The formal hearings meeting began shortly afterward.
