Council later read a proclamation honoring La Tapatia, which was founded Sept. 20, 1950. Speakers at the meeting described multi‑generation ownership, continued use of stone‑ground corn for tortillas and the business’s ties to other local restaurants. Council members noted the company’s longstanding role as a neighborhood and regional food provider.
Both proclamations were ceremonial recognitions accepted by council with expressions of appreciation for small-business contributions to the city’s economy and culture.
