The Carmel Plan Commission adopted revised rules of procedure at its Dec. 16 meeting, approving two main changes: allowing the commission or committee to set meeting start times and updating a provision to require adoption of findings of fact when making recommendations to align with a state statute change.
Chair thanked the commission’s representative to the City Council, noting this was her last regular planning commission meeting. Commissioner Ali moved to adopt the revised rules as amended; the commission approved the motion by voice vote.
Why it matters: The rules update clarifies procedural expectations for meeting scheduling and aligns the commission’s recommendation process with a state statutory requirement to adopt findings of fact. Commission members thanked staff and counsel for drafting the changes.
