At the Dec. 23 meeting the Jackson County Board of Supervisors recorded the following formal actions by voice vote.
Resolutions extending moratoria on utility‑scale battery and solar systems
- Resolution 1157 (motion start at SEG 344–362): Motion to extend the moratorium on utility‑scale battery and storage systems through Aug. 31, 2027 (motion made and approved by voice vote). The motion was announced in the meeting as "motion by Mike, second by Nen," and the board chair called the voice vote; the minutes record "All those in favor, say aye" and the chair stated "Motion carries." (See SEG 360–367.)
- Resolution 1158 (motion start at SEG 369–377): Motion to extend the moratorium on utility‑scale solar energy conversion systems through Aug. 31, 2027. The meeting recorded a motion (as spoken: "motion by Nen, second by Mike") and a voice vote; the chair stated "Motion carries." (See SEG 373–412.)
Purpose: Zoning staff stated both moratoria were extended to give the zoning commission time to complete defensible ordinance language for utility‑scale uses and to avoid premature approvals while regulations are developed.
Resolution removing weight restrictions on three bridges
- Resolution 1156 (motion start at SEG 449–456): Motion to remove weight restrictions from three recently replaced county structures (24th Street east of Macogona; a bridge on 216th Avenue south‑west of Willamette; and the culvert replacement on 287th Street near the northwest county end). The board approved the resolution by voice vote; the chair reported "Motion carries." (See SEG 449–464.)
Other administrative approvals
- Utility permit(s) for a rebuild/line work along 275th Street in Otter Creek Township were approved by voice vote following staff recommendation (SEG 465–481).
