Neighbor urges North Aurora board to revisit lot sizes for proposed subdivision

HAROLD THIELMAN, a North Aurora resident, addressed the board during public comment on Dec. 15, urging officials to consider increasing lot sizes for a proposed development north of his home.
"I live at 3 S 976 Deer Oaks Road in North Aurora," Thielman said, adding that approximately 20 years ago Newman Homes built a subdivision due west of his property with "extremely small lots that bordered all of our properties." He said the village later increased the sizes of the three lots that directly bordered his property and asked the board to consider a similar accommodation for the current proposal.
Thielman told the board he missed a recent planning meeting where the new proposal was discussed but wanted to place his concerns on the record, saying the change would help the new development "blend in" with existing homes. He thanked the board for past responsiveness and asked them to look into the matter again.
The board did not take formal action on Thielman’s request during the meeting and moved on to consent and new-business items.
