"Local clerks may keep them or throw them out," he said, arguing the county should "issue a resolution advising local clerks to retain ballot stubs" to strengthen the ability to audit and to build public trust.
Commissioners thanked him for raising the issue; several expressed support for ensuring election records are auditable. The request was presented as a public comment and the board took no formal action on the matter during the meeting.
